Wowzers! It has been a busy winter for us here. Well, we have had some struggles getting the farm house fixed up, but we are getting close to moving day. We are also getting close to spring planting time! I have been working on starting some spring seeds. We also ordered fruit trees, nut trees, raspberries, blackberries, and some grape vines. We can’t wait to get started planting trees! Winter has been hanging on, but we are looking forward to warmer weather.
Aside from spending most of the winter covered in plaster, paint, and other misc remodeling substances, I did get a chance to get out the other day. I met with Stephanie Liljedahl and I was lucky enough to see the progress on the Butter Churn in Woodhull, IL. I am so excited for Stephanie and the local community. The store is going to be great! If you haven’t done so, you should definitely check out her Facebook page (www.facebook.com/thebutterchurn).
In other news, Nathan finally talked me into upgrading to smart phones. I retired my old flip phone for good. That means, I can be much more connected. As much as I fought the upgrade, it will make it easier for me to keep everyone updated with photos and goings on at the farm!
Also, we are working on an email list for this year. If you would like to get our weekly produce list by email, please send me a private message on Facebook with your contact info or email me at email@example.com.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone this Spring!
