So, here we are in the middle of May. We are working hard in the fields and so far things are going great. We are starting market this weekend in Davenport. Next week our farm hours, Kewanee markets, and Galva markets are starting. There are many other exciting things going on in our world too. We were contacted recently by the Galesburg Food Hub which will be up and running soon. We are looking forward to participating in the food hub. Healthy Harvest is opening a second location. We are happy to be one of their suppliers and look forward to their continued success. The Butter Churn is still going strong. Look for our produce there again this summer.
There is one other thing I feel needs a special mention. Galva lost its grocery store. Without a grocery store, there is no fresh produce in town on a daily basis. Scott Caravello at the Galva Pharmacy stepped up to help. He is now carrying produce at his pharmacy so that the town has access to fresh fruits and vegetables. We will still be there on Wednesdays with our local farm veggies, but now you can stop by any day of the week and find what you need!
